The 2021 NVR report is out

The National Vascular Registry (NVR) is a national database where data are recorded for 5 vascular procedures performed in NHS Trusts in the UK: AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, lower limb bypass/endarterectomy, amputation and endovascular interventions. Each year a report is published, in 2021 on 11th November, and it shows how units compare across the country on outcomes like length of stay, proportion of EVAR and mortality of procedures.

This year’s report and organisational data viewer are available here: https://www.vsqip.org.uk/reports/2021-annual-report/. You can see how your unit is performing using the organisational data viewer or browse the procedure volumes in units where you may be rotating for your training using the search function by Trust or hospital here: https://www.vsqip.org.uk/surgeon-outcomes/. Data submitted by your unit can be downloaded and used in clinical audit, research or quality improvement projects. National data can also be obtained by applying via the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP). Please see the VSQIP website (https://www.vsqip.org.uk/)  for more information on the NVR and related projects, like the Peripheral Arterial Disease Quality Improvement Programme. If you want to meet us, see the report in person or ask any questions, drop by the NVR stand at the Vascular Society meeting in Manchester.
